County Treasurer Announces First Half Of Property Taxes Due
Bernalillo County Treasurer, Patrick Padilla, Announces First Half Of Property Taxes Due.
 
The 2009 property tax may be paid in two equal installments.
o   The First Half Tax is due November 10th, 2009 and becomes delinquent December 11th, 2009.

o   The Second Half Tax is due April 10th, 2010 and becomes delinquent May 11th, 2010. 

o   Delinquent Property taxes are assessed a penalty and interest. 

o   Properties delinquent two years or more are transferred to the State and can be sold by the State at auction.
 
Property Tax Payment Methods:
o   In person at the Treasurers’ Office One Civic Plaza NW, lower level. Mon-Fri, 8 AM - 5 PM

o   In person from November 1- December 10, 2009 and April 1-May 10, 2010 at participating Banks and Credit Unions listed at www.bernco.gov/treasurer and listed below

o   Mailed to Bernalillo County Treasurer, PO Box 269 Albuquerque, NM 87103-0627

o   Placed inDrop Boxes identified with the County Seal and conveniently located throughout the County. Locations are listed at www.bernco,gov/treasurer and listed below. 

o   On line at www.Bernco.gov/treasurer using a credit card, debit card, or an electronic check

o   Pre-Paid Monthly payments for next years, 2010, property taxes. Eligibility requirements for monthly property tax payments include: Primary residence and current property taxes. Taxpayer uses 10 coupons mailed to them from the County. The amount due for the first 9 coupons is 1/10 of the previous year taxes, the amount due with the 10th coupon is the difference between the total of the 9 coupons paid and the 2010 tax bill. Enroll to pay 2010 property taxes monthly at www.bernco.gov/treasurer or call 468-7123.
