11/5/2009 County Treasurer Announces Tax Bills To Be Mailed
 Bernalillo County Treasurer, Patrick Padilla, will mail more than a quarter million property Tax Bills on November 1, 2009. Property owners who do not receive a property tax bill by November 7, 2009, should contact the County Treasurer’s Office at 505-468-7031 or by email @ treas@bernco.gov.
Bernalillo County Treasurer, Patrick Padilla, is responsible for property tax collection, banking, investment, disbursement and accountability of public funds.
The 2009 property tax may be paid in two equal installments.
o The First Half Tax is due November 10th, 2009 and becomes delinquent December 11th, 2009.
o The Second Half Tax is due April 10th, 2010 and becomes delinquent May 11th, 2010.
o Delinquent Property taxes are assessed a penalty and interest.
o Properties delinquent two years or more are transferred to the State and can be sold by the State at auction.
Property Tax Payment Methods:
o In person at the Treasurers’ Office One Civic Plaza NW, lower level. Mon-Fri, 8 AM - 5 PM
o In person from November 1- December 10, 2009 and April 1-May 10, 2010 at participating Banks and Credit Unions listed at www.bernco.gov/treasurer and listed below
o Mailed to Bernalillo County Treasurer, PO Box 269 Albuquerque, NM 87103-0627
o Placed inDrop Boxes identified with the County Seal and conveniently located throughout the County. Locations are listed at www.bernco,gov/treasurer and listed below.
o Pre-Paid Monthly payments for next years, 2010, property taxes. Eligibility requirements for monthly property tax payments include: Primary residence and current property taxes. Taxpayer uses 10 coupons mailed to them from the County. The amount due for the first 9 coupons is 1/10 of the previous year taxes, the amount due with the 10 th coupon is the difference between the total of the 9 coupons paid and the 2010 tax bill.
