A message from the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners

Commissioner Michael Wiener and Fire Chief John Garcia Introduce “Operation Address.”

In the case of a fire or a medical emergency, first responders need to be able to find your home quickly and easily.

Through “Operation Address” the goal is to make sure residents of Bernalillo County are properly displaying their addresses so that fire and rescue personnel and law enforcement can find your home easily in emergency situations.
  • Thousands of house addresses in Bernalillo County are not visible, unmarked or marked incorrectly.
  • Numbers and letters should be six inches in height and no less than a half inch wide. They should also contrast with their background.
  • All street addresses need to be plainly legible and visible from the street fronting the property.
